My Industrial Blower Seems To Be Getting Very Hot. Is That Normal?
January 15, 2016
Many times, I’m asked if it’s normal for a blower to get very hot while operating. This of course depends on just how hot the blower is getting, but the act of compression does cause an increase in temperature, also called delta T. Typically, the discharge temperature should be below 200 degrees Fahrenheit or it begins to significantly reduce bearing life and extreme temperatures can cause thermal expansion of the internal components leading to failure.
